💙🏀 CAITLIN CLARK GIVES BACK - AND HER BIGGEST ASSISTS MAY BE HAPPENING FAR AWAY FROM THE SCOREBOARD
Through the Caitlin Clark Foundation, the Indiana Fever star has focused on three major areas - education, nutrition and sports. The work has included school-supply giveaways, book donations, hospital programs and community recreation projects designed to give children more opportunities long after the cameras leave.
That is why the phrase “sometimes the biggest assist happens off the court” fits so naturally. Clark's most famous assists split defenses. These quieter ones can change a child's day, a school year or even the way a young person sees the future.

Helping students start strong
One of the foundation's clearest priorities has been making sure children begin the school year with the tools they need. In 2026, the foundation partnered with schools and community organizations in both Indianapolis and Des Moines to provide backpacks, essential supplies and books to students.
At Hoover High School in Des Moines, roughly 500 students received support through the Back-to-School Backpacks initiative. In Indianapolis, students from Anna Brochhausen School 88 and George Julian School received backpacks donated by Nike, school supplies from Hy-Vee and books through Scholastic.
The idea is simple: a child should be able to walk into class thinking about learning, not worrying about whether they have a notebook, pencil or backpack.

Books have become a major part of Clark's mission
Reading is another area where Clark's off-court influence has become visible. The foundation says more than 22,000 books have been distributed to students through its partnership with Scholastic.
That investment reflects something Clark has spoken about repeatedly: education and reading were important parts of her own childhood, and she wants kids to have the same chance to build confidence, curiosity and imagination.
The foundation's work has also expanded into hospitals through Turning Pages, Healing Hearts, a literacy program designed specifically for pediatric patients. The program uses book vending machines, tokens and activity packets to give children a meaningful choice during hospital stays, when so many other decisions are made for them.

Support inside children's hospitals
In 2026, the Caitlin Clark Foundation launched Turning Pages, Healing Hearts at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, as well as at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines and Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City.
Children can earn tokens through milestones in their care and use those tokens to choose a book from a dedicated vending machine. The book is theirs to keep.
The foundation has also backed hospitals financially. It announced a $50,000 grant to Peyton Manning Children's Hospital and a $22,000 grant to Blank Children's Hospital to support young patients and families.
Those gifts matter because hospital care is not only about treatment. Children also need comfort, normalcy and moments when they can feel like kids again.

Giving kids a place to play
Sports remain another major pillar of the foundation. In partnership with Musco Lighting, Clark's organization has supported multi-use community courts in Iowa and Indiana.
These spaces are designed for basketball, soccer and futsal, with lighting, fencing, benches and accessible entry points. The goal goes beyond competition. A safe court gives children somewhere to meet friends, stay active and build confidence.
For Clark, that connection is personal. Long before she became one of the most recognizable athletes in America, sports gave her structure, community and a place to dream.
Helping more children access that same environment is one of the clearest ways she can turn fame into something lasting.

Why these moments matter so much
A charity event does not have the tension of a playoff game. There is no final buzzer, no defensive scheme and no box score.
But for the children involved, the memory can be just as powerful.
A young fan may remember the day Caitlin Clark handed them a backpack. Another may remember choosing a new book at a hospital. Someone else may grow up playing on a court built because her foundation decided that neighborhood deserved a better place to play.
Those moments are difficult to measure, which is exactly why they often receive less attention than sports statistics.
Clark's basketball career will always be judged by wins, assists and championships. But her influence already extends into classrooms, hospitals and community spaces where the scoreboard does not matter.
That may be the most meaningful part of the story. Caitlin Clark became famous because of what she can do with a basketball. What she chooses to do with that fame is creating a different kind of legacy - one built on books, backpacks, courts, support and the belief that every child deserves an opportunity to grow.
